No improvement? Chychryn is an upgrade over both Lindgren and Miller.... Plus you get him for 50% of his salary against the cap $2.3M for 2023-24 & 24-25. Tarasenko is an upgrade over Laffrenierre who you're going to have to re-sign in a year where you have to re-sign Lindgren, Kakko, Schneider, and still fill out the rest of your roster with 13 players signed and only $15M in available cap space. Getting Chychryn for $2.3M and Subtracting Miller's $3.87M as a bottom pair defenseman lets the Ranges actually do that. It's a good trade. Ottawa is the team taking on the risk.

K'Andre Miller is a bottom pairing defenseman in NY making almost $4M a season who struggles big time defensively. I know exactly who he is. Fox, Lindgren, Chychryn, & Trouba would be NYR top 4. Chychryn at $2.3M would be a bargain as I said Ottawa would be paying 50% of his salary for this season as next. Ottawa also pays 50% of Tarasenko's salary for this season. NYR have $15M in cap space next season to fill 9 spots.... with Lindgren, Schneider, Kaako, and a backup goaltender to sign. Adding Chychryn at $2.3M and removing Miller's $3.87M & Laffrenierre's $3.325M allows NYR to actually sign their players. Kakko, Schneider, Lindgren, and a cheap backup goalie? Is the bare minimum $9.5M after their 10% raises. Doesn't leave much to fill out their roster with.

You can get upset if you want but it doesn't make you right. Besides regardless I don't think Tarasenko wants to go back to new york. Laffy plays better with Panarin than Tarasenko did. NYR I'd a fragile team and I do not think Drury would do any major upgrades to this team. He learned that lesson from last year.

You could have just said, "Yes, I don't know who he is".
Miller has the 2nd highest average TOI on the team and has played the majority of his shifts with Trouba or Fox... Why are you making me defend Ranger fans

So Ottawa just wins a bunch of trades?

If Kubalik and Brannstom were worth 2nds then those trades would have happened at the start of the season

Lmao so basically rangers should get rid of Laffy because they can’t re-sign him? So NYR end up losing 1st round pick, their only good goalie prospect, KAM, Laffy and Tarasenko because if they can’t re-sign Laffy then they probably can’t re-sign Tarasenko (based off your logic)

KAM plays heavy hard minutes under Lavi and it’s the first year where he’s actually struggling. No reason to dump him because he has raw size skill and talent. He’s very good when he’s on top of his game

that's an overpay for the rangers for two borderline rentals. miller + garand + first round + prospect (robertson or henriksson) would do it. you'd get nyr's best goalie prospect, a very solid offensive dman that needs a mental reset, a first rounder and a nhl ready prospect

And not a single consideration of the value of RFA vs UFA. The guy has to be trolling. As if he’s one of those guys saying we can’t afford the RFAs, it’s been said for 3 years straight now and there’s been no issues
