Even with retention, CBJ say no. Provorov isn't a good fit, but there's no reason to move him this year and take back a much worse contract. He'll go half-retained either in the offseason or at the next TDL for some futures. We don't want another D-man to block Mateychuk's spot.

I want Krug gone, too, but one has to be patient.Think about how far over a barrel you're suggesting to go to swap Krug out for one season of a guy with higher AAV who'll you'll be this desperate to offload in two months' time. Be patient, don't panic - panic moves have been the bane of this franchise for decades. Potential lottery pick, Bolduc, retention for a few years, and maybe worst of all, taking on that cap dump of a human. You can feel how you want about it, but we both know this ain't it.
