Description

My top 3 trade targets for the Jets.

Crosby - you throw everything you’ve got at him. Crosby brings a cup if you can get him to Winnipeg. NO I do not think he is available in trade by the Pens nor by himself. But, you gotta kick the tires on it.

Henrique - this is the best fit C of guys that seem to be available. Should be had for a first. Better fit than Lindholm or Monahan if you ask me. I think of it similar to what Stastny was, not the sexiest, but effective.

Tanev - the biggest thing for the Jets is to not disrupt the incredible team effort they’ve been putting forth all season. No deal might be better than a deal that brings in a guy who can’t lock it down defensively or play gritty. Tanev can do both those things though, and would add some great depth and versatility to the back end.

It’s probably 1 of 3 not all 3.

Crazy overpay by Winnipeg in all 3 deals. No need for Tanev.

We'll accept a first for Adam Henrique with retention, even though I would hate to see him go. At least then I would have a rooting interest in the playoffs

Tanev wouldn’t solidify the blue line? Say Demelo gets hurt on the run home? You’re left with 1 rhd and probably Stanley in the lineup. Yikes. Teams strength in defending becomes an issue.

And yes the Crosby deal is a lot. But I disagree that the other ones are overpays let alone ‘crazy’. Would like to hear why you think that

I guess the only really "crazy" overpay is the Crosby deal. You're not getting 3 firsts and 3 top prospects for a little over a year of 36 YO Crosby.

Henrique is a good target, but isn't worth a 1st. Maybe a low 2nd tops.

Tanev doesn't fill a need, he'd be just a depth guy in case of injuries and that doesn't cost a high 2nd that really is petty much a 1st.
