Going all in when this core barely puts any effort into games is certainly something

Fair prices. Saw somewhere that they need a righty in top-six. Maybe guy like Perron or Eberle (for less)?

7 goals is little effort? I see what you're saying but when so many players have NTC/NMC not much you can do but bench them

Giving up two firsts and a good prospect for someone that can walk for nothing over the summer. Come on man

Edit: I shouldn't have said "can walk for nothing". I'd like to change that to "WILL walk for nothing" because we don't have any money to pay him.

1 game isn’t much compared to the last few weeks of play lol

Yea I agree but it doesn’t mean you push all your chips in and leaves you with nothing next year

How do you figure? Two low 1sts and a B prospect? To a division rival?

Horvat got a top 30 prospect, a middle 6 guy, and a middle 1st. Guentzel is 2 years older and a winger but significantly better statistically. The Horvat trade is the floor for a Guentzel trade if he is traded into the West. A division rival? WAY MORE.

Just because Lou got fleeced doesn't mean that's a floor for anyone to be traded for. Also raty is not or was not a top 30 prospect

I agree the rangers are very unlikely. I also sort of viewed those picks as middle ish

Your right. The Pens should give NY a discount. Do you want Crosby too? 50% retention for a 5th.

Why would the Pens do this when they could get a better deal from someone else? Hell, NY paid about this for St. Louis and Guentzel is a much better player.

Pens may deal Guentzel, this isn't it.

No need to be a smart... you know, just because you're wrong. MSL had about the same ppg and an additional year on his contract... so I guess guentzel should really go for less

They did have the same PPG but Marty drove possession less, scored less, was much less physical, and was 10 years older. I've already did the comparison but to reiterate:
3 years average before FA (assuming a linear curve for Marty in the shortened season and Guentzel this year)

Guentzel:
Xgoals: 41.1
Goals: 37.7
Points: 81.7
Corsi: 60%
Shooting Talent Above Average: 18.0%

St. Louis:
Xgoals: 23.3
Goals: 28.0
Points: 81.7
Corsi: 53.3%
Shooting Talent Above Average: 4.5%

The numbers don't agree with you and numbers don't lie.
