More theory than a real proposition. And if I'm a team buying, I don't trade my goalie that works to get Shesty because you need that safety net. .899 isn't much to hang your hope on. What they can hope on is that he picks it up again and becomes elite come playoffs.

Ya but you want to see him up here first. He needs to get in 25 NHL games before becoming the starter. Shesty was fortunate to jump in on the 3 headed beast with Hank and Geo. Then have Geo as legit competition for the starting job. By then I guess we could sign samsonov for the starting role and let Garand steal it away

I mean Igor was in the AHL before joining the NHL. Prior to that he was always in Pro leagues unlike Garand. There seems to be a correlation between great goalies and playing a lot of pro games before hitting the NHL

Ya but Igor also wasn’t just thrown into the starting position is my point. Garand should get a handful of games this year just to give quick some extra rest and give shesty a few games off to try and regroup mentally. This also gives NyR a look at what Garand can do. If he is looking good go 3 headed beast for a bit. If not he goes back down. But he can’t just be handed the starting spot in 18 months. Need a stable supporting G there for him. Honestly the biggest mistake CD has made so far is not collecting on the LTIR for Kakko, Fox and Chytil. This would have given so much flexibility for something like a 3headed beast and TDL acquisitions.
