Edmonton declines. Maybe someone will pay that ask for Monahan, but it won't be Edmonton.

It definitely could be Edmonton. Hell they paid a 2nd for a 3rd pairing D in Kulak at last years deadline.

What are you talking about? That has nothing to do with anything lmao. Edmonton isn’t gonna pay a 1st for a rental move on

Wanting futures and keeping Buch are two wildly different takes lol.

With this deal they get a high end top 4 D at roughly the same age (Blues have no defense it’s why they suck and they will continue to suck unless they address it). On the flip side they have two young stars up front in Thomas and Kyrou, with Snuggerud, Dvorsky and Bolduc coming. Offense will not be an issue with or without Buch.

I suggest you do some research and find out who Engstrom is, he’s a highly touted D prospect and you get a 2nd (could switch that with a 1st if you feel that makes more sense).

I don’t see St. Louis looking for straight futures, theyre not about to rebuild. And he’s not going to net the type of return you’re suggesting. He’s a very good player, not a superstar.

There are many teams desperate for a center. Edmonton isn't one of them.

Plus, Ken Holland has never traded a 1st for a rental in his career.

Monahan doesn’t have to play centre, he can play anywhere and Edmonton is desperate for depth. Friedman said he doesn’t see a better fit for Monahan than Edmonton, maybe he’s wrong idk.

Let me ask you this, could Edmonton (on top of depth) not use a guy who can win 55% of your faceoffs on the PP and PK?

Because if he doesn’t go far in the playoffs he’s probably getting fired.

They already have several guys like that. And Edmonton is desperate for depth?? How the **** do you think they've won 24 of their last 27 games?? Both McDavid and Draisaitl are scoring less than last season.

Holland is in the last year of his contract. He's likely going to retire this summer, Cup or not. He won't get fired if they don't win, that's silly.

I don’t think he’ll retire. I think he’ll be like Lou, another 10 years maybe.

But if he does retire, then what does he care? This would be the perfect time to trade a 1st. It’s his last chance to win a cup in Edmonton.

He might well trade the 1st, but there's no reason to believe he'd trade the 1st for a rental who would be on the 3rd or 4th line. He might be old but he isn't dumb.

Go market Monahan to teams who are desperate for a center and would play him in their top-6.

Anyone who trades for him is for the bottom 6 and they’ll be trading a 1st.
