These all trades are bad for the future:
minus Pickering, Yager, 2 1st and 1 2nd rounds for 2 players that will leave the team next summer. Same thing for Chychrun, who will leave in 2 years.

So, 2024 summer, no playoff, no peaks, no future at all.
In 2026, Ottawa will get first peak when Pens go to the very bottom

Calgary declines. Pickering and the 1st is a start but the rest is very underwhelming. Pending UFA White adds no value. Add Calum Ritchie and it's a deal. Replace Pickering with Ritchie and it gets consideration.

I'd debate making a trade to help the Pens if I'm the Sharks unless it's an overpay. The Sharks have the Pens' 1st round pick this year (top 10 protected) so the Pens doing worse would move that pick up.
