They won't get jiricek for mittelstadt. Mittelstadt is 1 or 2 years away from UFA. Too risky.

I think buffalo would have to be willing to part with Benson.

Lol. Blue Jackets counter with Jack Roslovic and a 2nd for Rasmus Dahlin.

I like the Columbus trade. No interest in the Nashville trade at all.

Mittelstadt is an RFA now so he can be 8 years away from RFA

That's an insanely bad comparison. Dahlin is elite, Jiricek is not on his level. Mittelstadt is 2 years younger than Roslovic, played nearly 100 less games and has nearly the same amount of points while trending up not down, Mittelstadt is playing one of his best years, Roslovic is playing by far his worst

It’s meant to prove a point. If someone offered a mid forward and a 2nd round pick for your #1 or future #1 defensemen you’d be saying how ridiculous the offer is.

The Blue Jackets aren’t trading Jiricek unless the haul is ridiculous. That whole front office won’t be around once this season ends. No way ownership allows them to move a foundational piece like Jiricek.

Yes he's an RFA but he also has a lot of power to just take a QO and become a UFA next year. Columbus is a dumpster fire right now and has notoriously had issues signing players so that would be a massive risk on their part.

Jiricek would cost more than that. A lot more. I want him on the Coyotes so bad.

It doesn't prove a point because it makes no sense
