Why? They're nearly identical in points per game over the course of their careers, and I'd argue Arty has done more with his ice time than Kakko has (mostly 4th line minutes for Arty).

We're well past draft slot now.

As a matter of fact, this couldn't even be 1-for-1 because Kakko is already getting paid his next contract that he's not performing to while Arty is still on his ELC.

Kakko is borderline elite defensively at 22 and coming off a 40 point season majority at EV while playing 3rd line minutes

Sounds like you're trying to sell me something. Seemingly every Rangers fan on here wants Kakko off that team.

You're welcome to disagree, but I wouldn't add a single piece to a swap, and I'd argue the Rangers would need to retain to make it even possible.

Ranger fans who want Kakko off the team only care about point totals and don’t look at any other metrics or analytics

Not much. Maybe a 3rd or 4th.

Also Kaliyev is playing sheltered minutes on the 4th line the past 2 seasons with PP time. And gets around 30 points

Yes Kakko is better defensively

Either way I think this should happen.

I’d personally rather keep Kakko. Already a stud defensively and puck possession. Just needs to work on skating and offense
