I'm not sure why everyone is signing Tavares. It cannot be done. Our big 3 is going to cost us more in cap than Toews/Kane combined and now you want to add another $9M on forward? Half the cap would be tied up in 4 players.

Don't understand why the Leafs (or many teams) would want Tavares into his mid 30s. Signing JT means you can't sign at least one of Nylander, Marner, Kapanen and Gardiner or Matthews.
There are 31 teams in the league can't Tavares sign with another team besides the Leafs? It's getting to be like all those Doughty/OELarsson/Tanev trades.....the Leafs are the the only landing spot. Just gets silly.

I don't always agree with your assessments of Leaf topics but in this case I do. We got our "Tavares" we potentially have our "OEL" in Liljegren. We are absolutely stacked with potential and I for one think they just need to let them develop. MAYBE trade a winger for some kind of help on the D or even in the C depth.

Leafs aren't stacked with potential, all their potential is in the NHL and the fans don't want to trade Bozak/JVR/Kadri because they have nothing to replace them with. Meanwhile there is a gaping hole on the backend where Rielly is the only person other than Lilegren or Dermott who can probably play defense in the NHL.

Marleau nixed any Tavares deal, unless he pays to join the team.

Do you not read my posts? We have a ton of wingers that can come in and play. Nylander will be a C in the future and will spot in a few times this year.
Neilsen will play in the NHL as well. I'd bet even one of the 4 towers we've drafted over the last couple years will play too.

Again, your lack of knowledge towards the Leafs is amazing. Read more. Please.
