Peeke?!?!? LOL! Leafs would only take Peeke if he CAME with a 1st and 4 more picks this year,

A 1st and 4 more picks all this year, c'mon now. Especially with the young D CBJ have in the system... Provorov is a luxury CBJ does not need. Take the picks and keep the rebuild going.

May as well get some quality for Provorov NOW while you can - no way he re-signs in CBJ after next year.

Not even close to getting you provorov half retained. Not to mention they would have to give up their 2024 second to Philly if they trade their 2025 second. Take out all the picks jackets are trading and maybe

$1.25M retained ~= 5th based on the Orlov trade. $2.4M retained is ~= 3rd based on that? Over two seasons, with the retention slot locked up, probably a 2nd and 3rd (we'll call it 2 3rds).

Provorov the player is a 1st, so overall CBJ would be looking for a 1st and two 3rds in total. Plenty of teams would pay that for a 2nd-pairing D-man for two seasons with some offensive upside at ~$2.4M.

So yeah, remove the picks going Toronto's way and we might be close. Make it a 2024 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th and we have a deal.
