I would accept that offer as the Anaheim GM. Whether any Ranger fans would accept it is another question entirely.

What's the least you would accept for both of those guys, 50% retained. Did I over shoot the value here?

Rangers shouldn’t be extending a soon to be 34 year old center. They have to many old players on the decline

And i didnt do the math but you might not need a full 50% retention.

I'm with @nyrfan81 here. You're overboard by one of the later picks at least (a 2025 fourth and 2026 third have about the same value due to the year difference) with Othmann in there.

Fair! So just remove either the 3rd or 4th? So quite close. I can see this trade making a lot of sense for both teams.

He has more potential and is a goal scorer which the Ranges need. Kakko is a middle six power forward and just never developed the way the Rangers hoped. Yes he flashes at times and drives possession but the results are just not there.
