Montreal retains half on Monahan. All three picks become 4th rounders if Colorado advances to second round. All three picks become 3rd rounders if Colorado advances to conference final. All three picks become 2nd rounders if Colorado advances to final. All three picks become 1st rounders if Colorado wins cup.

Montreal already owns the 2024 2nd. There is no 2024 3rd or 2025 2nd.

Outside if that, I truly hate this setup. Avs get upset in Round 1, and Montreal gets a bag of pucks vs what they could fetch otherwise.
Edmonton, Vancouver or Winnipeg could all very well beat the Avs 2nd round .

No, no, no!

COL is NOT a good fit for Monahan. Too slow and PP specialist which wouldn't fit into COL's PP1, barely on PP2.

Monahan is going to fetch a 1st and prospect minimum. Substitute Monahan for Wideman in the original offer and you have a deal
