I don't follow this team much, so I'm going with the POV of some fans who know their team more than I do. A lot of them were saying Monahan would mostly be for extra depth, injury replacement because he wouldn't be in WPG's top 9

that makes no sense whatsoever. You don't give a 1st rounder for 4th line depth.

It would make sense if Monahan plays on the second line.

If I’m an owner and my GM was like we just traded a 1st for player X, I would go bat **** if saw it was to play him on the 4th line.

Bowness has already said that Monahan is playing with Perfetti and Ehlers (2nd line). He is not starting at 4C.

Assuming Scheifele and Gustafsson are healthy after the All star break:
Connor - Scheifele - Vilardi
Perfetti - Monahan - Ehlers
Niederreiter - Lowry - Appleton
Barron - Namestnikov - Iafallo

Extra fwds: Gustafsson, Kupari
Waivers: Jonsson-Fjalby, Toninato

Well let’s put it this way, Kupari has 1 point in 21 games this season and a %46.4 in the faceoff dot. I would say Monahan is probably a better option at 2c.
