I would steer clear of Meier if I was KH, 8.8 million for a guy approaching his late 20's for 7 years after this one, and being mid 30's when it ends. He has gotten better but his numbers have heavily regressed when he wasn't THE guy in San Jose. Getting rid of Anderson is nice, especially since his offensive numbers have tanked this year, but MTL could potentially replace him with more expensive version in terms of a drag on the cap.

That late 2nd doesn't even pay for the two Montreal cap dumps. I sure isn't getting a guy that half the league would be lining up to bid on if he was made available.
