I could see SEA jumping all over this deal.

I think it's a high overpay for a Rental. Can COL afford Wenneberg's next deal?

Brains are probably exploding in WASH right now... they all seem to think Dowd is worth a 1st Rd pick. Watch the comment section, should be fun!

probably not, which is why they may not do this. If the avs can drop Behrens, this deal is basically done though.

I would probably say it a little different. Take out the 1st Rd pick, keep Behrens and it's a Bingo!

I don't see the Caps doing this for a 21yo who hasnt been able to crack an NHL roster considering the fact that they already have a decent amount of young forwards who should be able to crack the NHL roster next season. Dowd's value is around a 2nd, but there will likely be a bidding war for him if the Caps choose to move him so he could very well be moved for a 1st.

Dowd is a top 10 defensive forward… Plays 16 minutes a game vs other teams top lines and has a low cap him with term. It’s not crazy for him to get a first bc how thin the centers are atm. SM got a 1st and 3rd and he’s pretty bad 200ft and has 50% of his points on the power play. I think Dowd gets a 2nd + prospect but you’d be crazy to overlook his abilities. Avs paid a 2nd last year for Eller and he’s a far inferior talent.

I mean to be fair he is a top 6 winger and there aren’t any of those spots open in COL. To me he is an interesting case study, he has legit speed and a really good shot, COL’s AHL really lacks a high end center prospect heck even a top 6 C prospect that can set him up but I completely understand if there isn’t any interest.
