Try 7 points bud 58 for Detroit and 51 for Pittsburgh. And even with 4 games in hand and all wins only puts you at 59 and Detroit will win some of their games as well. Even if Pittsburgh gets 3rd in the Metro Detroit will still have more point than them even if we finish at wild card 2 Pittsburgh needs to win all 4 games in hand and Detroit lose all 4 games. The last half of your paragraph makes me think you don’t know how the standings work

If the pens are third in the metro they do not need to catch the red wings. The red wings are in the Atlantic division, they cannot get a metro spot. We are 5 points back of the FLYERS with 4 games in hand. We do not need to catch the red wings right now, that would be nice insurance though.

We need two games and an overtime more than the flyers over the next 35 games. We are playing our best hockey, they have been sliding.
