Why does Ottawa need another LD? Chabot, Sanderson, Chychrun. Going the TB route loading up the left side.

For the record, POJ is low key a AHL player. If the sens traded for him it’s probably not to play in the NHL

Thought he was a 3rd pair guy or is but ok. So why does Ottawa do this? My question still remains

do you really think the penguins need Kubalik either?

These two teams are just swapping dead weight here. It's a whatever trade.

That’s not true. POJ is a fine player on any team as a 5-7 D. will never light it up offensively but skates well and makes the plays he needs to. Penguins have too many players like him though and need a different look there which is why the like Ludvig.

He can’t crack our lineup when we are fully healthy and we aren’t exactly a top team. Hes not that good. He will always be a tweener. Too good for AHL, not good enough for NHL

Kubalik ain’t great but surely scoring 20 goals twice in the last five years is better than whatever the heck POJ does

I’ll take my dead weight with a side of upside over plain old pancakes any day. 20 goals is 20 goals. That’s butter

I'm not arguing that I'm just saying they are both dead weight so who cares about a swap of dead weight.

He's proven with his play that he's good enough for the NHL - whether the coach likes him or not is a different story

These are both fringe players. Chychrun usually plays on the right side even though he's LHD, this brings the Joseph brothers together, allows them to trade or put Brannstrom on the right side of the bottom pair and sit JBD.

Pens have 3 guys who can play on the left side of the bottom pairing between Joseph, Ludvig, Shea (and then Smith). So they add a fringe scoring forward (which they don't have replacement for if a top 6 guy gets hurt).

Maybe Kubalik can find some chemistry with someone. Maybe he can find a spot on one of the two powerplays. Maybe Joseph can take a step forward with Jacques Martin.

Sens retain the cap because pens can't afford the deal without it + Joseph is an RFA at the end of the year

NOT nearly as effectively. There better pulling a TB and locking down the left side
