Leafs pass, every team likely passes as well, TVR isn’t worth that

TvR is absolutely worth a 3rd round pick. Fair value for a 3rd pairing guy who plays both sides (Edmundson received a 3rd and he was coming off a worse season)

Edmundson was worth that. He was playing top PK minutes in Montreal and played a very physical game. His game clearly translates to playoff hockey which is valuable. He ofcourse is not worth that at the moment, but was coming off of last season.

TVR is used sparingly on the PK (4th defenceman out to kill penalties). Doesn’t play a physical game, doesn’t provide offence. He’s a 7th defenceman on every single playoff team at a 3 million cap hit for the next few years. He’s very much not worth a 3rd, or a 3rd and a 5th

Lol that rangers trade is...uh... hopeful

Edmundson was coming off of a horrendous defensive year and TvR is having a "meh" one. He is absolutely not a 7th defenseman on a playoff team, and unlike many other defensive options he has term left on his deal. Unlike Edmundson he's able to play up and down the lineup with ease, he was capable playing first pairing minutes or third pairing minutes on playoff teams in 2021, and scored 20 points in a more capable defensive system last year. He is without a doubt worth a 3rd.

a 2nd at best for that package to NYR. Two fourth liners can usually be had for a 3rd rounder.
