Reports came out that our 2024 1st round pick wont be moved because of our owner owning the Sphere

ANA will ask for a 2024 1st. If NYR want it to be the 2025 1st, they're gonna have to add a pick. Maybe a 3rd would be enough though.

Not even the best team is guaranteed a cup, but it would make them legit contender i think.

The East is open this year, might as well take a shot. Not like they have 5+ good years in front of them. The window is closing.

A legit contender? Well only in your head it does. But it makes sense that other fans wants NYR to still throw money on this old dying beast. It help you out. So I get it.

Reread my post, i said NYR don't have 5 years. But the window is still open for a few 2-3 seasons. Panarin and Kreider are still good, NYR are still one of the top teams in the east.

I get that rebuilds are appealing for fans nowadays, but when you're a top 5 team in the league, you have to aim for the cup and not for a top 10 pick. I wish MTL was a top 5 team.

I don't get why you think it would help other teams if NYR traded for a rental?

Eh, no. Kreider Mika can't produce 5 on 5. Panarin is having a great year, but last year wasn't that good, so we do not know what Panarin we get. Chytil might be done playing hockey, Igor been really struggling, Kakko have taken a step back etc. I'm not sure where you dream this stuff up to be honest

It will help teams because NYR will lose depth and in house talent, forcing them to over pay for TDL players each season which further depletes their depth and next year they will need to make more desperate moves and so on...
