1. Tanev isn't worth a 1st.

2. Tanev won't help the Leafs win a round. This is not their year. They need multiple pieces and it's tough doing that kind of business at the trade deadline.

3. Find another buyer.

I'm not sure Vancouver wants to part with more assets, I could see him signing there as a free agent.
I could see Edmonton at the deadline, 2nd and broberg or something, and someone to make the cap work.

Maybe.

But seeing Leafs fans squirm over it is entertaining. 😁

They want all these good players but don't want to trade their #1 pick or any decent prospect.

Plus they never want to pay for retention.

So who are they expecting to get? 🤔

And they are competing against other teams for these players. 🙄

It does to CFACGM Leafs fans.

They badmouth players they want so as to justify why it's realistic to pay THEIR price.

Lowball offers which include suspects, cap dumps and mid round picks.

Then they'll place said "bad" player in their top 6F or top 4D. 🙄

Yeah the standard CFACGM Leafs trade is Robertson, Timmins and a 3rd for your good player.

But the player only becomes good when he puts the Leafs uniform on.

I've got no problem with Timmins, he'd be an ok bottom 6 guy for us, but he can't be the main piece coming back. And yeah, robertson is about 6th on our depth chart at left wing. Don't think a lot of them actually know or bother to see what other teams need.

Ottawa has been linked to him, so has Toronto. Ottawa can dangle the Boston 1st, which would likely get it done. It would force Toronto into offering theirs, or they lose out on the player.

My guess is a 2nd and 3rd.
