Can you explain why? I see it as moving on from goodrow, improving our 4th line with Motte, getting a middle 6 rw that could fit with Mika, and getting the most value out of gus while also giving Jones time to play

You clearly don't remember what TB paid to get Jeannot and they really like Motte playing in the middle. So thanks anyway.

No chance Tampa even entertains the thought of this.

I see this trade as a means to replace serge while injured with a low cost defender who has been great both offensively and defensively this year. I see your side though, however, jeannot has been anything but good and tamps was overpaid for him

This is not a minor move. Youre giving up a ton of stuff for 300 hits a year. Why in the world would we be helping an Eastern Conf rival? Theres plenty of teams in the league we could trade with to get more grit.

Jeannot is overhyped and Lavi clearly prefers Gus over Jones.
Not to mention you’re giving up picks

The 4th line is fine lol Pitlick-goodrow-vesey pretty much shutdown Kucherov/Point while scoring 2 goals

The priority should be top line RW for Mika and Kreider

Dolan has said he isn’t trading the Rangers 1st because he wants the spectacle of making the puck in the Sphere.

He's pretty much been hurt most of his time here. Julien Brisebois loves the guy. Also Raddysh will take the 2PP spot and Lilleberg will slot in 2 LD I realize it's a small sample size but that kid has looked really good. Makes the safe smart play. Really knows how to throw the body and isn't afraid to YouTube his hit on Bret Leason if you doubt me. May be the best hit in the league all Year.

Tampa declines this rather quickly. Tampa needs the cap space more than Gustafsson and a late 2nd round pick.

Trading Gus away kinda defeats the point of this trade. The value is fair though.

Drury reportedly offered it in a package for Lindholm. I think it's moreso Dolan prefers the Rangers keep their 1st especially with how mid the rest of the trade market is, but wouldn't mind it being traded for a game-changing player. Like I'd be pissed too if they packaged in their 1st for someone like Henrique who's far from a big fish. And obviously the spectacle has a lot to do with it too for Dolan.
