I get that Minten is a tough move but in reality his ceiling is a 3C. McBain is already that and brings a different element that the Leafs need.

Don't see Brodie waiving his NTC to go to WAS

Nor do I see WAS taking on $3.25m to replace an expiring UFA for another expiring UFA and a 3rd rounder.

Brodie would be a fair one for one with Edmundson if not better. The 3rd is for the extra cap. Maybe cost a little more? But Caps should have space with the guys they are losing. Depends how much it costs to eat that extra $3.25M

Leafs aren’t moving Minten Brad literally said Minten and Cowan will not be moved we already have a bottom 10 prospect pool we aren’t making it bottom 5 at the deadline

There would need to be some sweetener for the caps to take on Brodie as a cap dump. A 3rd for Ed is fine, but we aren’t just going to solve your cap issue for nothing

Why would the caps be interested in a 1 for 1 Brodie trade. That literally does nothing for them and arguably makes them worse

Of course Brad is going to say that to the media. But if he wants any sort of substance or a player that can make a difference, he will have to be willing to move at least one of them

Well since TOR doesn’t have a 2nd probably Robertson or a decent prospect like Topi

I guess we will have to see. I think Tre moves either Minten, Cowan, Niemela or the 2- 1sts by March 8th

No chance. Washington has the cap space and it’s only for the last two months of the year. I’d say a second 3rd is even too much. If he had multiple years left, I’d agree and he won’t hurt you playing in the bottom 4 and on his own side.

Maybe not but it’s at least an offer to entertain

1 1st maybe if it’s on chychrun and maybe niemela but zero chance he spends 2 1sts he’s never spent 2 1sts at a deadline and he’s not moving minten or Cowan

It doesn’t matter if they have space. Cap dumps have costs and dumping Brodie is more than a 4th. Not the caps fault TOR doesn’t have many picks or prospects to play with. Caps will find someone to trade ED for a 3rd without a dump attached

Yes I meant one of the two 1sts. I could see that but I think Ott is going to be asking a lot

Still wouldn’t get Robertson or a 2nd for cap space for 2 months

not really for AZ there is zero reason to trade mcbain. late picks (they have a million) are of little value and minten is 19yo might turn into something might not (AZ has deep prospect pool) and lilj is decent not great (valimaki, soderstrum and others AZ already has at that 4-6 D).
