I think Columbus should get Lohrei instead of Beecher here. They're giving up a lot of value.

Bruins should pass and keep Lohrei and looking for players during UFA season this summer.

players this summer do not help the team now - they're contenders.

I agree, but moving one of the few bright prospects they have under a cap friendly ELC is not the right move for Jenner. Sure Jenner is a great team player and from all accounts a locker room player as well. But he is often missing games due to injury and hasn't eclipsed 45 pts in 8 years. The Bruins should only move Lohrei if they are getting a game breaker back and one they can lock contract wise. Jenner is not that player.

you're getting three years of a bruins style of play middle six center that can score at 1.875M. that's better value than 99% of ELCs are going to give you.

Jenner is $3.750 per season - and yes he may be a Bruins style player. When you are talking about Lohrei you need to see what you have in him vs trading for a 2nd line center who is often injured and avg's about 38 pts a season. If you are getting a younger player like Lindholm etc. it may be worth it. But a 1st and Lohrei for Jenner is not worth it for the Bruins. Just isn't a match. They need a number 1 center, not Jenner.

there's 50% retention in this deal - that's costly. Jenner is a year older than Lindholm. I'm not overly concerned about that age difference. Normally I would be opposed to moving a first with Lohrei, and I certainly wouldn't do that for a rental, but three years of a 2C at a cap hit under $2M is so valuable, I don't think that can be passed up.

Also, the bruins don't need a 1C, frankly, I don't think they absolutely need a C. They're doing pretty well with what they have, and since being elevated to a top six role, Coyle kind of has played at a 1C rate.

bottom line, i don't think you can pass up the opportunity to grab a player like jenner with that cap hit.
