Jenner is $3.750 per season - and yes he may be a Bruins style player. When you are talking about Lohrei you need to see what you have in him vs trading for a 2nd line center who is often injured and avg's about 38 pts a season. If you are getting a younger player like Lindholm etc. it may be worth it. But a 1st and Lohrei for Jenner is not worth it for the Bruins. Just isn't a match. They need a number 1 center, not Jenner.
there's 50% retention in this deal - that's costly. Jenner is a year older than Lindholm. I'm not overly concerned about that age difference. Normally I would be opposed to moving a first with Lohrei, and I certainly wouldn't do that for a rental, but three years of a 2C at a cap hit under $2M is so valuable, I don't think that can be passed up.
Also, the bruins don't need a 1C, frankly, I don't think they absolutely need a C. They're doing pretty well with what they have, and since being elevated to a top six role, Coyle kind of has played at a 1C rate.
bottom line, i don't think you can pass up the opportunity to grab a player like jenner with that cap hit.
