Why? First the return is absolutely horrendous. Second No gm will retain that much for 7 years. Third Rielly is the only viable defenseman on Toronto roster they aren’t trading him.

Maybe we make the Leafs retain more... add in a 6th in 2026 for that retention. Sounds pretty fair

This offer is okay, but honestly it needs a bit more cap dump to hit the bullseye. Probably best to switch Krug in for Saad. And now the Leafs have a replacement! And he even saves them cap! Let's all go eat Jello to celebrate!

It's honestly hilarious how you guys are talking about Rielly like he would be a cap dump. The peace offering mentioned above, and Parayko offers in general, are way more reasonable. Rielly is the only one in either offer who is All-Star calibre too

I think most people do. It's just hard to do so when its the same concept of EDM or TOR trading for Parayko while offering B/C prospects and a late 1st and a wide variety of cap dumps for Parayko with retention.
