Overpay for zegras. He is obviously skilled but has yet to show the the type of year out consistency in just 82 games to net that type of package. Anaheim of course would accept.

A little overpayment on Zegras you can take away a first, Harris is probably not worth a 2nd closer to a 3rd and honestly idk about Allen his numbers have gone down quite a bit and even with 850k retention idk if teams take a a risk for 3 million for 2 years on a goalie who might only be a decent back up

Canes can’t take a goalie with term unless that player is a clear cut 1A starter. Allen ain’t that dude.

I am not even a Habs fan. I never said Zegras is not good but for Montreal to trade two firsts, a third and three prospects for him? They would have been better off offer sheeting him as the max compensation for an offer sheet would be a 1st, 2nd and a 3rd for zegras of he signed a deal worth 6.5 to 8.5 for Montreal.
Zegras has yet to reach 82 points in a season. Not saying he won't or can't. Saying that the deal is an overpay.

An slavkkofski is only in his second year and steadily improving. As for Dach, it was only one first rounder that got him. Drysdale was Gauthier and a second only for Anaheim.

Exactly, a top end prospect for Drysdale. Anaheim will want quality not quantity. Reinbacher and a 3rd/4th for Zegras is a realistic offer

That I agree with. The above trade was too many picks. Zegras is traded will command a blue chip piece and a pick, not three picks. In comparable, offer sheet comparable for zegras between 6.5 and 8.5 mill a season is only a 1st, 2nd and a 3rd. His current salary is lower than that, so we should tailor the compensation similar to that of Drysdale, Dach and offer sheets for a good package for both teams.

Everyone either over or undervalues Zegras these days. I'd imagine Calgary's first rounder in 2025 appeals to them if they believe Calgary is going to stink, and they maybe kick the tire on WiFi and try to get him as part of the package if you're getting rid of him anyways? All I know is dealing a blue chip defense prospect for a forward always backfires for Montreal.

Yet to show his consistency? He has 2 consecutive 60+ points seasons already in his career. Do you even pay attention to the Ducks or do you just blabber what you think because you only see Michigan Man when the NHL posts him.
