Description
Probably not even close on values although I'll take a disclaimer on the first deal as that was proposed by a Sabres fan with a worse offer of a 3rd round pick. The Nashville trade feels a little light on quality for the Preds. Kovacevic seems to vary wildly on here in what Habs fans want for him so who knows what he'd cost. The deal for EJ is, again, a who knows.
Trades
1.
COL
  1. Krebs, Peyton
  2. Olofsson, Victor ($1,500,000 retained)

Taken from a Sabres fan's idea but I've upped the pick to the 2nd as I think that's probably closer to fair. Their idea was that the Sabres get a face off winning 3C to play behind their top 2. RyJo might be a better fit in Buffalo and the Avs get out from under a year of his cap taking Olofsson back.
BUF
  1. Johansen, Ryan
  2. 2026 2nd round pick (COL)
2.
COL
  1. Lankinen, Kevin
  2. Novak, Thomas
  3. Sissons, Colton ($1,428,571 retained)
Additional Details:
Lankinen = Prosvetov & 5th
Novak = Foudy & 1st
Sissons = Olofsson & 3rd plus 4th for retention
Kiviranta is a contract the Avs would need to move and Nashville would at least need bodies. Failing that he could be waived. Olofsson could probably be re-signed quite cheaply by comparison to his current deal if he fits in Nashville.
NSH
  1. Foudy, Jean-Luc
  2. Kiviranta, Joel
  3. Olofsson, Victor
  4. Prosvetov, Ivan
  5. 2024 1st round pick (COL)
  6. 2025 3rd round pick (COL)
  7. 2025 4th round pick (COL)
  8. 2026 5th round pick (COL)
3.
COL
  1. Kovacevic, Johnathan
Additional Details:
Young French Canadian prospect who is never going to get a look on the Avs and a 4th for Kovacevic. Beaucage doesn't add a lot of value but he's a prospect they can take a look at. Added MacDermid as a contract the Avs need to move. Doesn't add much value to the deal but can help protect a fairly young team and could be fun with him in MTL and Reaves in TOR as they still have to play each other twice.
MTL
  1. Beaucage, Alex
  2. MacDermid, Kurtis
  3. 2024 4th round pick (COL)
4.
COL
  1. Johnson, Erik ($1,625,000 retained)
Additional Details:
More of a sentimental move....BUT.....I do feel there are issues in the Avs locker room somehow, more of a gut feeling than anything. Losing Landy and the D corps leader for the last 10 years may be part of the issue. Bringing EJ back might just help there. Sabres won't get all that much for him at the TDL imo. Back to the Avs is the most likely move. Full 50% retention tehnically isn't even necessary if that was an issue.
BUF
  1. Jones, Caleb
  2. 2025 6th round pick (COL)

Was purely the idea that they may want a D back in to cover for the rest of the year but that wouldn't make or break things at any rate. Jones could be waived if the Avs needed to and sent down. I have to say that it's hard to follow where the Sabres are going and what exactly they're trying to do. It seems on the face of it the fans are in the same predicament (All a shame as I've always had a soft spot for the Sabres since Hasek's days). I've seen people wanting a veteran face off guy and willing to pay for RyJo to others who wouldn't take him for free to others who want the Avs to pay to send him to Buffalo.

Minimize costs, maximize revenue sharing proceeds. Almost everyone knows this is the case but it's not a reality they want to entertain because sports are escapism for them.

Drop Krebs and the Sabres do it. They aren't in the market for RyJo

Avs should have no interest in paying you to take RyJo and take Olofsson back.

They'll have to pay someone. At least they get something for it

Olofsson has little to no value to the Avs. Sure they might be able to flip him as I have here but that's a big maybe and they could make that trade without Olofsson involved. The Avs would rather pay to move RyJo and get nothing back imo.

Olofsson isn't a bad player, Granato has just buried him this year. He's a fine complementary piece especially with retention and he's gone after the year if it doesn't work out. RyJo is a burden

RyJo is worth more to the Avs as it stands than Olofsson would be. Olofsson is basically a cap dump as well. RyJo is a C who costs less, wins face offs and there's a difference of .03 pts per game in the two. The only 'win' is in the second year of cap. If the Avs can't flip Olofsson they'd be stuck with him as another wing they don't need and even less in the way of options at C. It's nonsense to think the Avs 'are getting something' and even more nonsense to think the Avs would entertain the idea. Huge difference if the Avs were getting Krebs as well, then it becomes a gamble worth taking.

Kovacevic is underrated and that includes by Habs fans.
He's a solid 3rd pairing defender who may be capable of more but needs an opportunity.

I'd expect around a 2nd to move him and he's probably not worth that to a team that only sees him as a 3rd pairing option.
If you have a questionable #4 or a hole there next season, that's where I would recommend trading for him.
Colorado isn't really the right fit for that price.

I'm personally in favor of moving Savard at the deadline and bumping Kovacevic's minutes to finish the season. I want to see how he handles a bigger role before I decide to move him.

Fair comment and yes for a 3rd pair D a 2nd is a big ask, maybe it's something the Avs would circle back to if/when Manson is moved. Logically moving Savard probably garners a better return at the TDL from the right team for sure.

No real reason other than he's one of the prospects who is way down the depth chart in Colorado & Fr/Can so might play well for Laval. Doesn't add a huge amount to the trade in value as it says above. Just a prospect added in. Could really be any at that kind of level.
