I mean that was basically a playoff game. High intensity, physical and emotions were running high. It was a good game on both sides. Nice to see annunen play really strong as well. I think you throw in a temp 2C and nichuskin and we probily generate a few more chances. I don't think a game like that calls for trading away byram.

Unlike other Avs fans I'm not opposed to trading Byram for the right return but I think you try to hold onto him if you can. Lot of pieces for the Flyers to give up (even if value is a question), especially when still in the playoff hunt, and I reckon Frost is still a 1st plus a sweetener in value so I don't think it's necessary to go to those lengths. MacDermid simply won't get moved by the Avs (he should be if he could be but they won't) so you have to count him into your roster. Sadly as the days pass RyJo is going to cost to move. If anyone gives you anything for him you probably take it and run and look at filling in until/unless you can find someone to fill the 2C slot. I have to wonder how much the achilles injury has slowed him, as whilst he wasn't fast before, he wasn't so slow he couldn't catch a cold. Nice to see Annunen show he might be capable of being a regular back up.

Possibly until/unless you can pick up somebody else to play 2C. The only way I can see RyJo working at all for the Avs is to put him between the Avs slowest two wingers (and when I say slowest I'm not calling them slow, just compared to the rest of them) which imo would be Drouin (who he did show some chemistry with early) and Lehky (now he's back from injury). Once Nichushkin is back he goes 1LW (play Parise there for now if you have to), and keep the Wood/Colton/LOC line together.

I agree with @TJTwolf Byram is not untouchable but it has to be for just the right guy/package. That said idk man but they gotta do something
