Description
With Guentzel on LTIR until after the TD, I can see Dubas shipping players out and retooling for next year. I can see Dubas retaining on guys with 1-2 years left on the deal so keep that in mind. What return do you see these guys grabbing?

lol. Welcome to CapFriendly where people literally read nothing you have in a post.

Anyway, although not performing top notch in season, I feel Accari and Smith would help any playoff team.

Exactly. No one has time to read. Just look at the logo and start the rant.

Why wouldn’t CGY be interested in Graves!? He’s a solid replacement option for Hanifin

He’s 28 and Flames are retooling. He hasn’t live up to his contract this year for sure. Saying he’s a solid replacement for Hanifin is just absurd. Graves is a bottom two pairing and Hanifin is top pairing power play QB for us. We have so many young guys who Conroy has wanted to see what we have in. So trading assets and blocking the youth movement is contradictory to the direction Flames should/are headed in. If we want a veteran guy we can sign one in the offseason. Flames also should lose as many games to get a higher pick this year. We are the only team never to have picked in the first 3 picks of the draft.

Smith straight up without retention is not getting more than a 3rd back and even that might be a stretch.

28-29 is Young for a Top-4 Defensemen and $4.5mil/yr is cheap for a 2nd Pairing LD (almost 1/2 what Hanifin wants). He’s much better than Zadorov who we were paying $3.75mil on the 3rd Pairing too…

You want a Younger Forward Group more than a Young D-Corps. Graves is the ideal Veteran to mentor the young guys, he’s Big, Strong & Physical. Blocks Shots, Kills Penalties and he’s decent Offensively at Even Strength too.

Put Kylington or Poirier on the PP as Hanifin’s replacement, but I’m sure Graves would do fine there too

Maybe the fit in PIT isn’t that good, but I’d love him on the Flames. I prefer Big Gritty Guys like Graves & Weegar over Hanifin anyways
