Is there anything OTT has that would make a Cernak trade work? I'd love him on the Sens, but not sure what would get it done.

Chychrun/Chabot, BOS 2024 1st, 50% Tarasenko, prospect (Ostapchuk and/or Kleven)?

No he's TBs best defensive defenseman signed long term at a nice number. Personally I'd love to see him partnered up with Lilleberg Mentor the kid do the Ryan McDonagh to Erik Cernak thing and become a shutdown pairing.

Makes sense! Exactly why I'd want him so it makes sense that's why you'd keep him. Appreciate the input.

I can't see us trading Cernak, he is not the type of player or contract you trade

1- Rangers are receiving value but doubt they'd be interested to part ways with the young D-man

2- Lightning fans don't seem to like it but it's at least very arguable that Chychrun doesn't have more value, he was traded for 12th OA and two 2nd round picks just a year ago. But that being said, bad fit for these 2 teams, as TB would have the same LHD vs RHD problem as Ottawa

lol all that for Cernak?

Tampa would take that and run

Imagine if someone was offering Chabot type player, a 1st, a player worth a first at the deadline and a top prospect like Kleven for Artem Zub? You'd be utterly stupid to not do it

And Zub analytics are a LOT better than Cernak

1- This package is worth 1st + 2nd + 4th + 4th

- Tarasenko was traded for 1st + 3rd just one year ago and has an even better season than last year (14 goals, 21 assists at ES in 69 games vs 13 goals, 17 assists at ES in 51 games)
- Erik Brannstrom is 24 y/o, high pedigree, cost controlled and has good 2-way metrics the last 2 seasons (worth a 2nd or 3rd at the very least)
- 4th round pick

How much is Schneider worth?

2- LMAO

Cernak is 1 year older and has 19 goals and 83 NHL career points in 342 games
Chychrun has 71 goals and 205 NHL career points in 438 games

Cernak has a 5.2 cap hit for 7 more years (until 34 years old when he could be obsolete)
Chychrun has a 4.6 cap hit for one more year, will require a year but you still have the possibility to sign him for less term which would make his contract much more valuable

Cernak doesn't bring much offense and his defensive metrics have taken a nose dive the last 2 seasons, not better than Chychrun

Not getting Schneider.

Spooner used to gather some points too, we don't need floaters for a run. I doubt you get a 1st, from us anyway. Brann is a 2m lil 7 D on our team, cost controlled alright.

Cernak is a Beast. Chychrun is a F, trying to play D, a hot mess in his own end. What's Chychs next retirement cap 6-9m?!!

Look at us top teams, heavy defensive depth. Last summer All we heard from Sens and Sabres was how you were going to shred the stat sheets.

1 Cute stats

2 And paragraphs

To push them.

Not getting Schneider.

It seems like we have to take the slow approach.... So what did I say when you quoted me?

"doubt they'd be interested to part ways with the young D-man"

This is not my proposal and right away I was saying this when you first quoted me.

Now my question was : "How much is Schneider worth?"

You have to be able to follow or it's an insipid conversation...

Sorry but what an empty argument, trying to compare Tarasenko to Spooner lol. Tarasenko hasn't been a floater at all this season. And funnily, the Rangers paid 1st + 3rd for Tarasenko not even a year ago lol

Again, and it goes again with you having hard a really hard time to follow, I didn't make this proposal, I didn't build the package, now I am talking about the pieces VALUE (since you said the stupid "zero value for Schneider". Good for the Rangers if they have all they want on LHD but totally irrelevant

You maybe meant WAS a beast? Since he doesn't bring much offense, if his defensive impact took a nose dive, his value too.

Just more irrelevancy
