More than fair. I wouldn't be shocked though if VGK now becomes a front-runner for Guentzel. You could realistically trade for both.

agreed but I don't really think Guentzel is the best idea for the future. He'll cost some premium assets and we won't be able to resign him past this season. I think for a rental, Buchnevich would be better

The only thing I'll allude to is Vegas' past dealings. They haven't been shy about sending out futures for short-term gains and I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that in the heat of chasing back-to-back cups, they could do something as aggressive as this. Also, with Marchessault coming due, Jake could be a younger replacement.
