Nah, the Sabres are loaded with undersized offensive forwards. What we need more of is power forwards who are defensively responsible and kill penalties. Currently, the "all hands on deck" defensive system is helping limit the egregeous chances the Sabres used to give up, but this team then doesn't get real rush chances, where they were successful last season. They are left trying to create offense when the opposition is set up, and there's no guys that consistently go to the net, so we end up taking unobstructed shots from distance, that opposing goalies save without much fuss. Our top line (tuch, Thompson, skinner) has scored 7 goals together 5v5, for comparison, last year they scored 42. Not sure how Garland could possibly fix that, but Greenway provides some pushback (he's not overly physical either) and he kills penalties.
