Bad idea for the Avs. Nelson isn't the answer imo. Too expensive to acquire and too expensive to pay. There's a reason the Avs went for RyJo with 50% retention and that's because that's really the Avs budget for a 2C. Anything over and above that marker eats in elsewhere so they'd need to be very special for the Avs to pay more and take that hit somewhere else.

Islanders really don’t need any LHD prospects and would look for a forward prospect + 1st. Ritchie, 1st and Johansen + conditional pick could be possible

And gets declined instantly by Colorado.

And Colorado doesn't get Nelson.

And I'd be perfectly happy with that as he's not the answer for the Avs imo.

That’s their only prospect with value so if they want an elite 2nd line center that’s what they need to pay

The first part of that is rubbish, the second part is questionable and the third shouldn't be happening where Nelson is concerned.
