Ehlers to LI 2
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Cory</b></div><div>I don't know much about Pulock so please someone enlighten me why Winnipeg would want a 29 year old with 6 years left on a contract of 6+ mil. Is he that good? I am not against it, just seems like while it address a need. They may be able to find someone a bit younger.</div></div>
Finding above average RHD are extremely hard to come by, especially when they’re younger. I also think the long contract benefits the Jets since they wouldn’t have to worry about him leaving in free agency since Winnipeg isn’t the most attractive destination.

Has this idea been explored
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Subbanator7667</b></div><div>That's great and all but their time has passed. Barzal, Dobson and Sorokin are about all that should be left of this roster. Other teams are just going to pass them by and they're never going to be legit contenders again. They don't have any prospects coming up, no cap space to make a big signing, basically just stuck being a mid level team who will only luck into a playoff spot just to be gone 5 games later.
Next season you likely see NJ, Ottawa, Buffalo and Detroit all pass them. Two years and Columbus is likely passing them, Montreal likely passes them the year after. In three years they're likely a lottery team anyways, why waste Barzal and Dobson's prime years</div></div>
I agree that the Devils should pass us but for the other 3 teams everybody’s been saying this for the past 3 years. At some point those teams need to prove it instead of people just looking at their roster before every season and saying they’ve improved. Not to say it won’t happen this year but more likely than not I’d have the Isles making the playoffs then the other teams.

Can Ehlers fit

Would love this trade for the Isles and I think it’s a pretty fair deal overall. The only thing that could stop it are the NTC’s but maybe Pulock decides it’s for the best

I don’t think Mangiapane is worth a full 2nd round pick’s value, so I was thinking with that excess value + Wahlstrom should cover any of JGP’s negative value.

Rolling
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Windjammer</b></div><div>Winnipeg should and would say no to the first one. Too much for one year of a player that won't resign and doesn't fill a need.
The Jets consider the 2nd one but most likely Pulock and the Islanders don't.</div></div>
As an Isles fan I’d definitely take that for Pulock but maybe I’m too optimistic for Perfetti. I think this is a perfect deal for both teams with the only thing in the way being the Pulock NTC, and even with that he’s from nearby so it’s reasonable he may wave. If Lou is in office is probably the deciding factor, because if he’s gone there’s most likely going to be a lot of movement within the team, and Pulock might think it’s for the best to leave.

if you are going to trade with the Islanders
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Shanesaw9</b></div><div>So let's make a deal:
Pageau ($5M × 2 years - 31 years old)
82GP, 11G, 22A, 33P, 55.4 FO%
EV: 12:29, 44.16 GF%, 46.54 xGF%
PP: 1:31, 1.0 P/60
PK: 1:54, 7.94 GA/60, 8.40 xGA/60
Evans ($1.7M × 1 year - 27 years old)
82GP, 7G, 21A, 28P, 52.2 FO%
EV: 12:42, 44.74 GF%, 44.07 xGF%
PP: n/a
PK: 3:10, 9.32 GA/60, 10.74 xGA/60
You get a cheaper and younger replacement for Pageau (frees up $3.3M to invest elsewhere).
We get a local player and some sort of compensation for the contract.</div></div>
I’d be fine with a trade like that but what would the trade compensation be?

Yea that’s the problem with these types of players, cause when they’re contracts become an albatross the teams become willing to move them but the player probably doesn’t wanna move again. It’d probably have to be a player from a bad team so he has an incentive to move and win.

Islanders
As much as I’d love Gaudreau, he’s already getting older and the contract is not looking great. At this point Idk if you’re gonna get any serious assets back but trading him would save money for the future. I could maybe see a Lee & Paguea trade for him, or Lee for Gaudreau with a couple mil retained.

I think he’s just not the skilled player he used to be and part of his unluckiness is just being slower to pucks around the crease. Value wise I think we might be able to get a 2nd, but I don’t think teams are gonna be begging to get him so he probably gets a 3rd. Plus we’d be signing Duclair with the free money so I think it’d be well worth it

Norris is also getting paid 3mil more for 5 more years than Pageau. Plus he's extremely injury prone. I wouldn't want to touch him at all

Completely agree. Palms fits Roy system perfectly and he's one of the guys who brings energy every night. If we make drastic moves this offseason, which we should, we should keep Roy vision in mind.

Value wise I'd be fine with this trade for Chychrun, but if we're picking 10-13 I think it'd be smarter to keep the pick. I'd think Roy still wants to win next year though, so everything else is up for sale

The Isles will never trade barzal, and especially to the Bruins. I don't get this logic of trading Barzal, to then trade Pulock for another forward who would just have to fill Barzal's spot. The Isles aren't entertaining any trades for Barzal, Horvat, Dobson, or Sorokin
