1) Atkinson is the best player in that deal and CLB says, "absolutely not".

2) That WPG deal is quite a bit worse. Only EDM thinks Kris Russell is good enough to warrant that contract and a #4 roster spot.

Will Atkinson resign next year with CBJ though? Cause if not CBJ is stupid to keep him cause they're not going to get through the East, if they make the play offs.

Atkinson will likely resign. Winnipeg deal doesnt work as it favors the Oilers by a fair bit. its a nice idea but the plan is multiple runs not one and done

I wouldn't if I were him. CBJ is not close IMO. Little is another UFA who's got other options but I have to admit I don't get to see Edm play except some highlights and that's pretty much all McDavid. I only can go by what I read and most sites are either "Rah!Rah!" or "Piss on them."

It gets much harder to build for multiple runs when you take on the big contracts. You start picking later and getting less quality in the draft and you're UFA start moving for more money. That's why I go for one. Then you can sell off a few Cup winners to wanna be contenders, like Chicago has done and build up for your next run, which could be the following year or maybe the following. EDM also has some bad contracts that are going to hurt them a for awhile. They're going to have to do it almost completely through the draft, and UFA settling for them, usually mean older players who've already seen a pay day ... So I'd go for next year first.

This.... this is why I am embarrassed to be an Oil fan. I wish I could give negative stars for the lack of hockey knowledge for other teams :/

I didn't sign the guy to his contract and I don't have the access you have as an Oilers fan. I wish I could give you 5 stars for being a douche bag rather then supplying any value to conversation at all. You should be embarrassed a human being for you lack of couth.

See how this serves no one? Please share your knowledge of the team that I lack, then we both can be as AWESOME as you. awesome face
