I got the trade from a Eric Duhatschek article where he explores the trade where the leafs swap a first for a second and take a retained Dumba and the 2nd being a high second becomes more attractive to the Flames in a Calgary deal. Me being a leaf fan I squeezed in McBain in hopes no one would notice. 😏

Apparently not, flames want a 1st to and no one is offering them one for Tanev. An Arizona 2nd is close to a late first.

I’ll be honest, Nashville would be crazy if they indeed trade Saros as it would tarnish the development of Askarov. I believe they keep him unless a crazy offer is on the table.

I also don't think he had retention on dumba in that proposal. Arizona should be able to get at least a 2nd back for a retained Dumba. I dont think moving up a dozen spots in the draft gets a deal done.

Easy no from Arizona as it only a difference of 15 draft positions. Kampf and his M NTC says no also to Arizona.
Flames say no, but the Leafs shouldn't be offering any more
A massive overpay by the Leafs in the Nashville trade. Saros isn't that much a difference maker over Samsonov. Certainly the Leafs aren't trading Cowan, and even the 1st might be too much of a premium.

If your going by what's being said by random media

It's also been said Toronto's offer isn't even top 3

So again it would be easily beat
