What we should do

Description
This team needs to get younger and add some grit. Sullivan I believe is going stale and we need a new coach. Never gives our young guys a real chance. You would think he’s the Pittsburgh pirates gm since they never bring any prospects up under the age of 24. We won the cup with young guys like sheary Wilson kuhnackel then guentzel. I’d like to see us add some grit maybe in offseason like a Lawson crosse trade. Although not a fan is be open to trading Petterson for bahl and a first but that’s a tough call. I’d retain on Carter and guentzel 50%. Maybe try to find a young third like pairing damn for the rest of the year with the draft picks we get. I’m just tired of seeing these scrubs brought up and not seeing players with potential like poison given a fair shot. Let me know your thoughts. The oilers trade I read about the d man and liked him idk if he’s actually good or if they need to even add a pick. Let me know a fair deal for pinto cause we need a good young third line center

Ottawa declines. Imagine offering that to Jersey for Mercer

OTT rejects that trade and the rest of the prospects and young players are unimpressive to me including Brisson. Sullivan still having a job SHOULD be one of the biggest stories in the league. No excuse to have such a poor PP with this team. If he coached in a Canadian market there would be "fire Sullivan" chants non stop.

Ottawa would definitely decline, but Mercer is a much more established player than Pinto at a year younger and a stronger pedigree. Pinto might end up being the superior player, but he wouldn't be more valued at this time.

Brisson isn't being moved for a rental, Vegas doesn't have the cap space for Jake Guentzel this summer. He's going to be seeking either 8 x $8,500,000 or 8 x $9,000,000 on his next deal.

They’re both very similar with similar production . Pinto is more of a fit at centre with strong 2 way play and faceoffs which could make him more valuable . Point is he’s still untouchable even if you offer a 1st++

I like Pinto. He might end up a superior player, but most GMs wouldn't value him the same. From a relativity perspective, he's a 23 yr old selected 63rd with 53 points in 112 games compared to Mercer a 19th overall pick a year younger with 124 pts in 220 games. Mercer just has more value right now.

You could argue Mercer but they’re similar enough . Also Ottawa is very high on him , they probably give him a longterm deal soon. I can’t see him being moved unless the return is a top pair RD or an elite goalie
