I am sure you would be one of the fans who would criticize Laviolette too when he benches a player like Zibanejad for his poor play. Also who are you playing him over? Rempe? Brodzinski? Get a grip dude and actually watch the games. Mika does so many good things defensively that go unnoticed. He's putting up a good amount of points.
You are one of the types of fans that annoy me because you just evaluate a player off of a bad stretch. If I see you praise him for his good play I am going to go crazy!

Mika has been a shell of himself offensively this year. He refuses to shoot, constantly defers. He no longer seems to drive play up ice, wants to be a passenger. Hes been turning over the puck, even in these wins, at an alarming rate. Come on, the game against Philly, 4 turnovers while on the PP... thats brutal. Sure, is he finding ways to be productive? Yes. But its very obvious that something is very different in his game this year, and not for the better.

So in your opinion, Vets can continue to not play well, not skate, give half ass effort, simply because you don’t want to give other players more time who are playing/working harder? You can easily replace Mika with Laffy on the powerplay to start. Why shouldn’t Laffy get a chance when Mika isn’t doing anything with it
