Pettersson would be the best player on the Sabers rn if he played for them. Any trade involving the Sabers needs to include 1 of Thompson, Dahlin or Powers at minimum.

Rutherford was going to move him if he didn't engage in contract discussions because the risk of entering the offseason with a franchise center that might be a rental and leaving at the end of the year was too risky to entertain.
