NJ easily declines imo. J Hughes is on a fantastic contract and will probably be 4M cheaper than Pettersson's next deal

Hronek only has 1 more year of team control while L Hughes is still on his ELC and has a way higher ceiling

I understand the money but the players going to NJ are better.

Exactly, 2 guys who need 2 new contracts in a span of 15 months and will cost 18-20 million a year vs alot less for a Hughes Boys, who are both younger.

I'd say pettersson and Hughes are about equal before factoring age and salary and I wouldn't trade Luke Hughes foe hronek and and a 1st

I'm sure the NJD are just dying to take on an additional $19,500,000 for both Elias Pettersson and Filip Hronek. 8 x $12,000,000 for Elias Pettersson and 8 x $7,500,000 for Filip Hronek when they're going to need to extend other players this summer.

No one outside of crazy Vancouver homers would value hronek over Hughes

i mean, hronek has been better than j. hughes this year. but given that jack is a rookie i would expect him to be the better player over the balance of their careers
