-Not enough for Washington. I think the general idea is that Dowd gets a 2nd on his own; asking them to eat RyJo's $4M for this year and next is going to require more of a sweetener than Ben Meyers.

-Honestly, probably an overpay but I'd take it, and I'd bump the retention all the way up to $3M for this package. Ritchie looks like he could be a top 6 guy within the next couple of seasons, and stockpiling an extra 1st would be worth eating some dead cap next year. Colorado is overpaying a bit here, imo.

Appreciate the level headed and in depth reply.
Ya, I don’t think they can even eat it all at this point (WSH) assuming they deal out some more money. Hope on that deal is they like RyJo fit and think he can be a 1-2C for them.

Agree with the overpay on Brock and if they’d eat more on that it would be an A+ for us as RyJo could be bought out or healthy scratched unless needed. We already stole Toews from Lou so if this were to happen I’d imagine we’d have to overpay to get him. Lou seems old school like that.

lol yup Lou's spent the past few years hearing about that so I assume he's gonna get his pound of flesh if he makes another trade with the Avs.

As always, this same COL team gave up a 2nd for one playoff run of Lars Eller last year. Going to take more to get a significantly better player with an extra year even before you add in taking back Johansen

Avs accept the Washington trade but Washington declines. Isles accept but the Avs decline on the other.

Washington declines a 2nd a younger version of Dowd and a 2-3C or W that fits their style for Dowd? 🤔
The Avs def don’t decline. Brock Nelson gives them 2 runs of being the legit cup fav not just odds. Calums value is highest it will be and could be great. Brock is great. Fits exactly their need and likely extends 2-3 years after contract to keep chasing cups. Welcome to cup window decisions and not wait and see if Calum is good in 5 years when we don’t have the roster to compete anymore.
Matter a Fact. I’m damn proud of this one. Specifically with Dallas getting Tanev and VgK likely going to get both Guentzel and Another top 6 wing w/ LTIR. Either we GO for it or CMAC might as well sell Mack Mikko and Makar and get a store full of picks and prospects. That way we can all oogle and ahhh at the POTENTIAL of things.
