You could get more for Kubalik especially with the retained salary

need to know what kubalik's status is w/r/t: being a bozo

-Caps are super hard to read. I don't think they buy this year but even with Chych being a 2 year option I don't know if they move *this* many futures for a guy like him.

-I think this is fair? Maybe swap Mattias Janmark for Brown to get that extra little bit of cap space and maybe throw an extra little treat (4th/5th rounder) for the retention but the basic idea feels fine to me.

-Kubalik's been a pretty steady 20-25 goal scorer since coming into the league - I feel like someone would give up a little more than this for him on the hopes of a bounceback. Not saying anything crazy, but I could easily see a 4th rounder for him fully retained.

Kubalik is definitely a bozo.

It was the same 3 months ago as it is now -- the Sens paid a certain price for Chychrun, I don't see any way another team gives them back the same (if not more) value when he has a year less of control and hasn't exactly blown anyone away in Ottawa. I think the Caps give you this year's first and one of the 25 2nds at the absolute most

Well, the reason I made it the 2025 1st was actually to help Washington because this years 1st is likely a lottery pick.

The 25 first, especially unprotected, is a much better asset than the 24 1st.

I'd be fine if the 2025 pick was top ten protected.
