Copp, even with retention is of little interest, and the rest of the package doesn’t do much either. We are looking to get better

You can keep Gostibehere, 2nd and 3rd is enough for Savard imo

Look at how many faceoffs Necas has taken in the NHL and then tell me hes a natural center. Dudes a perfect fit as a winger

this unfortunately is not gonna cut it for Necas :/ Canes say no. Habs would say yes without Ghostbear, but I see why you did that to make room for him.

To be fair, Savard is worth the 2nd and 3rd without Gostibehere; But in reality where the next move will be decided on where goes Tanev; Once he goes, Savard suddenly becomes the top contender for a deal and will most likely bring in a 1st pick minimum.

Let's be fair here.. He'll go to a contender so this 1st pick will be a late pick which are not always top tier players, and have a fair probability of not even breaking in the NHL.

That 2025 1st and probably a good top tier prospect. But it will depend on what Tanev goes for. If you throw in Gostibehere for salary comp, the 1st pick suddenly will cost you another pick.. Maybe that 3rd in 2026, but I'd listen to reason and either ask for a 5th rounder in 2026. Hugues is a very good trade partner, but he's looking at maximizing all of the assets he has since he's stuck with some long term bad contracts in Gally and Anderson. So every move he has will be playing for the best possible deal, and I don't see him looking around to make it easy for other teams to play him.

No Retention a 2nd and a 3rd isnt bad but i'd still want that 3rd to be a conditional 2nd if he plays in a ECF or SCF
I'd still want some AHL depth our team needs it for their playoff run
Swap out Ghost for Czarnik, he fits Lavals current needs as Roy's likely going to play in MTL until he's ineligible to be in the AHL playoffs this year.
Czarnik fills that hole

laugh Shayne Gostisbehere isn't waiving for one of the worst teams in the NHL, I'm pretty sure Montreal would be on his 10 team no trade list.

laugh So for 3 years on Copp we eat nearly $8,000,000 while signing Necas to either $6,000,000 or $7,000,000 per long term. Yeah we pass big time as does Carolina.

Given he ended up in DET clearly he was open to rebuild teams
That said no one wants Ghost here as he's ben in Harris and Xhekaj's way and cause us to send Struble to the minors.
