That would be a terrible idea for Florida.

Lundell+1st+1st of value would be more reasonable

If I'm Florida I'm not making that offer and if I'm OTT I'm jumping all over that.

Even then personally I wouldn’t pay that for Brady Tkachuk but I can see the appeal for Florida and only Florida because they have matthew

rofl, not even close to getting Brady, a 3rd liner a AHL G that sucks and is grossly overpaid and a first in 2026 not even close

Knight is trash. Cant even put up .900 in the AHL and he’s getting paid 4.5 . He’s legit worthless

This offer is not close

What was the offer?

It would take a major young piece under 25 to start a Brady discussion. Lundell isn’t a good enough piece

-every team trying to trade their star player, all end up shocked and disappointed when they return less for the 100th time

Guarantee you Brady is the missing piece for a lot of teams . Meier was not and never was . Look at how trash he is . No one would touch him

Meier in the 2 years before being traded:
134 games 66 goals 128 points
Tkachuk in the last 2 years
138 games 61 goals 134 points

Meier had better defensive metrics too. Same physicality, "grit", and "intangibles"

Verhage has been producing at a similar rate to Tkachuck, first off and signed for this year and next at half his cost.

Lundell is an EXCELLENT prospect who's only 22 and getting better. He looks like he'll probably wind up being a solid 50/60 point guy with a very good two-way game, not to mention you'd probably still be able to extend him on a reasonable contract.

Knight may be having some personal stuff going on, but at 22 years old which is still young for a goalie, has all the workings of a top starter in this league.

You'd have to be INSANE not to take this deal.

People seem unable to grasp that sometimes good players are simply poor fits on certain teams. Recently we have Bertuzzi, Huberdeau, Meier and Rielly Smith. It just happens.

You've said many things I've disagreed with, but you are so way off base here it's not even funny. You really have a hard time ever admitting you're wrong in a discussion or even conceding that you may be wrong. We've been down this road a few times. If you can't possibly grasp the concept that players are sometimes simply bad fits on certain teams then I don't know what to tell you. Meier is an exceptional hockey player who clearly just isn't fitting on the devils. It happens.

I'd also like to tack on that he's battled through injuries basically his entire time here
