If we're in the playoff picture we don't move Savard next year.
If we don't pick up a bonafide top 6 forward, we aren't likely to make the playoffs.
I'd say we either trade Savard now and continue development, or we keep him, add a forward, and start pushing.

Dach coming back gets us close, but we still need a little more and we'll be derailed again if we don't have the top 6 depth to sustain a player missing some games.
We also need at least one of our young D to take a leap to have a solid 2nd pairing at least.

Habs will hold on to Mesar for now. Kalyev doesn't fit MTL's type of play... a bit too lazy and not the premium top6 we need. we have already too many middle 6 forwards.
