That's a bit steep man, maybe if the 2024 1st is top 10 protected. Essentially the Canucks are getting a very high 1st round pick (probably top 5 as it is) plus 2 prospects who are 1st rounders (Ceulemans, Johnson), a 2nd round prospect (Del Bel Belluz), with Dumais as a sweetener.

Pettersson is a great player but he is due a new, heavy contract, and giving up young players with team control just doesn't make sense to me for CBJ. Although it would clear some room for prospects but I would rather clear the vets underperforming tbh.

Top 9 could look like this, plus trade 2 Dman for picks to recoup what you loose in this trade
Gaudreau-Petey-Marchenko
Jenner-Fantilli-Laine
Voronkov-Silly-Chinny

Personally dont think its that much, Ya its a top 5 pick but our prospect pool is deep, why not turn that into an All-Star in petersson to have him and Fantilli 1C/2C

That’s a really good offer. If I’m the Canucks I’d try to get one of Fantilli/Jiricek but this would be a competitive offer (assuming the Canucks prefer futures over more established NHL talent)

Jackets are giving up WAYYY too much here for a guy who is gonna be yet another big cap hit and they haven’t locked down 5 crucial young guys you’ve listed in your top 9. How are you gonna pay everyone and have anything left over for the role players?
