Calgary says no. Forsberg is not that good and neither is JBD regardless of what Ottawa fans say and kubalik is a dime a dozen UFA.

I love when people give up on good young 23 year old defence. Batherson is the prize of the bunch. Forsberg is not suppose to be great in this trade. He'd be going down. Kubalik is just a replacement for now. You're not going to give 4 Bathersons for the package.

Calgary declines, Batherson is a defensive liability and he's the only Senators asset in this trade with much value at all. In fact Forsberg and Kubalik have negative value to Calgary. Another NHL goalie especially one with another year on his contract is the very last thing Calgary needs and the 2nd last thing is yet another left shot winger especially one who's a pending UFA having a poor year.

Calgary would probably be willing to take a chance on Batherson but they won't be moving Sharky. The Flames might consider Tanev + Mangy for Batherson but I wouldn't. I'd rather wait until the summer and get someone more defensively responsible whether through trade or free agency.

Im not giving up on him, he is just not that good.and you're right Forsberg and Kubalik don't move the needle. I never said anything about Batherson because i agree he's a good player.

So one good player and fillers for that? Methinks not and before you assume i don't have a clue what I am talking about, I live in Ottawa and most or my friends are sens fans (thankfully cool in other ways) so I end up going to a lot of games.
