Guentzel to Vegas

Description
I wasn´t sure what to make of the Guentzel situation for a long time, but the more I think about it, the more I like the rumored fit in Vegas.
The Golden Knights are always up there for a big move and with the health issues to their top forwards, Guentzel could (even injured himself right now) give them a push in the last 10-15 games in the regular season and a scary forward core going into the playoffs. I believe a scoring winger is Vegas best spot to improve in the lineup and the way they acted in trades so far, I dont think they care too much about keeping their picks for the Vegas draft when there is a chance to win again.
The penguins reported asking price is around the value of two first round picks. With the uncertainty of his injury, I think they will have to settle for less to sell him. Nonetheless, I think it will need a first round pick + a valuable asset to get Guentzel.
Vegas could pay this price in multiple deals:
1: straight up pick trade
2: a first plus a valuable prospect (for example Sapovaliv)
3: a first plus Nicholas Roy; as a good scoring middle six forward who can play centre and wing and is signed long term for a cheap cap hit he is highly valuable for a contender like the golden knights but could also really help the penguins if they want to compete the rest of this season/ the last years with their current core (i dont think Vegas wants to do this one)
4: picks and Paul Cotter; also very valuable for a contender as he is league minimum for two more years and has great production for this cap hit
I think Vegas probably wants to do #1 or #2, as they have a lot of draft capital and dont want to lose anythging from their current roster. However, the penguins might be more interested in #3 or #4, if they want to keep their playoff hopes for this season alive.
Do you think the value is fair and which move do you think is most realistic?

Pens decline all 3. The value isnt there in any of them. We'd be looking at Brisson, 1st for starters and one more piece like Korczak, Roy, Dorofeyev. His injury is only until 2 games after the TDL, howver he's already skating and traveled with the team for our canadian road trip

I would expect Dubas to retain 50% and get better offers. No reason for him to try and trade Guentzel without retention. Also, why are you adding roster players for a contender? PIT isn't in a playoff spot hence why they are selling in the first place.

I am not to much into what the Penguins want to do, but with their recent form and being the first team in the hunt for the last wildcard/the 3rd metro spot (P%) I wasn´t sure how commited they are to selling and that they might only be interested in a trade if it helps them right now. Crosby and Malkin still seem to be good enough for the "just get in and see what happens" mindset in the playoffs.
If they just want to sell for as many futures as possible, you´re probably right, you could ask for more for a (retained) Guentzel!

Oh okay, thats a way sooner return than what I last heard. This will definitely raise the asking price.

Dubas sounds like he is listening to anyone except the core four. Guessing he wants to retain 50% on Guentzel this year and get a sign and trade package for him much like Meier got. He explicitly said he wants to get younger around the core and while Guentzel is very good, he is approaching 30 soon.

Do you have an idea who could be interested in Guentzel then? I dont really see where the interested contenders could sign him long term for more than 8 mil.
Maybe Seattle if they want to make a move for a star player after 3 more quiet years. Or detroit, but they already have Raymond, Seider Kane as free agents.

Just today Pagnotta said Vegas was interested in both Smith and Guentzel. Vegas moves players like cards at the blackjack table so they could definitely move someone and re-sign Guentzel if they really loved him. Dallas with Seguin on LTIR is a potential though they probably want defense more. Most players would re-sign there. EDM, but unless someone take Campbell, I can't see how they extend him. Vancouver, but again, no chance at re-signing him without taking someone back.

Lol... Guentzel without Crosby all these years...??
              Probably not in the league.
              Complete joke.
Pens will be committing highway roberry for ANY assets acquired for this dead weight riding Sids coattails.
Pray your team passes or has another set of lengthy/ strong coattails.
