Morrow and futures don't appeal to Buffalo, they need a roster player (Pesce please, with a new extension). But that's not happening at the deadline, so Sabres pass.

Mittlestadt is an up and down case for me:

I don’t know that he would be a center for us.
He doesn’t add to the needs of the team. We need goal scoring, not another small, physically shy playmaker.
Maybe we give him a 20 game tryout at C to see how he does.
Maybe we try to add some young talent in the chance that Necas gives us a hard time in re-signing.
If he doesn’t pan out as a center for us, maybe we could flip him at the draft to another team looking for a center.
